Always Remember HIM – Our Lord Jesus Christ

A couple of hours ago I had a conversation with my husband. We were talking about the difference between reading The Book of Mormon and studying it.

My husband likes to ‘study’ The Book of Mormon; reading the foot notes etc. I think it is a ‘guy thing’. When he is ‘reading’ it, he opens a certain part of it that he wants to read.

He just recently finished reading The Book of Mormon from the beginning to the end for the first time. It gave him a totally new insight of this remarkable book.

To me, reading The Book of Mormon always meant, to read it from the beginning to the end and then start all over again, and again. That’s how I can feel the Spirit. When Christ sheds tiers, I am crying with Him and I can feel the Love He has for us. When Christ rejoices, I can feel His joy. I can feel the Spirit throughout and take in the teachings.

Only because I was a Seminary Teacher for 7 years, I had the opportunity to ‘study’ the scriptures. Otherwise, I probably never would have ‘studied’ it the way it’s usually done. But studying it by teaching it is a totally different experience and a so much more rewarding way of studying the scriptures.

What I have learned through reading The Book of Mormon has become my ‘lifestyle’. It influences my life to live a better life; a safer life; a totally fulfilling life. I love to live my life with Jesus Christ by my side. I can’t imagine my life without Him.

By reading The Book of Mormon over and over again I can ‘Always Remember Him’, as we can hear it every Sunday in Sacrament Meeting ‘to always remember Him’.

It is meant literally, exactly as we read and hear it. We ought to remember Him “always”. The only way we can do so, is to read The Book of Mormon daily and refresh our memory in sacrament meeting.

Life is very demanding. It can distract us and lead us away from doing these things in no time. That’s why it is so important to read The Book of Mormon daily, so we can refresh our memory on a daily basis to ‘Remember Him always’.

To always remember the Lord, is not just ‘something to remember’. It means to make it your ‘Lifestyle’. If you just study the Scriptures like you would study math or biology or anything else, it wouldn’t become your lifestyle or your way of living.

You have to read The Book of Mormon daily. And put to work the things you learn and the Spirit you feel. Then and only then it will become your lifestyle, your way of living, your life with Jesus Christ.
